Getting ready for our School Production

We have started getting ready for our school production. Have a look at the photo of our Chinese dragon as we started assembling it for the boys to rehearse their dragon dance. We have been practising with our ribbons and this week tried on our costumes. We are really looking forward to the show, see you there.

Science at EXPLORE

We have been conducting some fun science experiments during EXPLORE this term.

We have predicted what we think might happen ... and then tested our predictions.

We have talked about the changes we saw ...

We have used our senses to talk about what we see, hear and smell ...

and had a lot of fun and laughter.

Football Skills

We have really enjoyed learning football skills with Jae each Friday. Jae told us we were the most enthusiastic class with everyone participating to the best of their ability. We definitely think we are better footballers now :)

Bella the Pug

We had a special visitor this week. Bella, Sophie's puppy, came to visit. She was very brave with 23 voices all talking to her.

Multiplication

This term we are starting maths by focusing on Multiplication again. We are looking at arrays because we have discovered it is quick and easy to skip count. This week we worked with our maths mate to see if we could count the arrays without counting all the numbers. We found the easiest way (counting in 2's, 5's or 10's) and solved all of these arrays.

The Journey

This term Tuatara Rock will be learning our dance for the school production "The Journey". The country we will be focusing on is China. This week we started learning about the Giant Panda. Have a look at our Panda Art

Nathaniel, Aidan and Julian ran in the Sri Chinmoy 2.5km Cross Country a few weeks ago, they all ran so well that the mum's could hardly keep up! Highlight was crossing through a deep muddy pond!
